No period drama by Julian Fellowes would be complete without a little class conflict. And if you've been watching his latest project, Belgravia幸运飞艇分析软件自动, it's no secret that Charles Pope has feelings for Lady Maria Grey. But given that Charles is a modest businessman (wholly unaware of the somewhat complicated circumstances of his birth), and Lady Maria is of the aristocracy, convention of the times wouldn't encourage such a match.
Plus, she's already spoken for, and Lady Maria's mother is wholly against her daughter spending time with Charles.
In an exclusive sneak peek of this Sunday's episode (above), Lady Templemore and Charles face off in the middle of what appears to be an afternoon tea.
"I saw you come in together, so don't lie to me," Lady Templemore says.
Charles then tries to explain the situation: "She was distressed and I brought her here...Lady Maria and I..."
But Lady Templemore cuts him off, and ends the conversation, bluntly laying out her perspective on the issue.
"Mr. Pope, there is no 'Lady Maria and I.' It is an absurd concept. My daughter is a jewel, as far above you as the stars. For your own sake as much as for hers, forget her, if you have a shred of honor in you."
To see what becomes of their discussion, tune in on Sunday for the show's penultimate episode.
